Heliamphora family

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Here are a few pictures for Sarraceniaceae addicts.

I had to rearrange my two Heliamphora tanks as several plants are becoming quite large...

My biggest plant is my H. folliculata from Murosipan Tepui which begins to look like wild plants.

The flowers of this species are huge!

Heliamphora folliculata, Murosipan tepui (again!):

Heliamphora sarracenioides and H. sp. Akopan (I broke the upper part a few days ago while I was doing a bit of trimming...:lol: .

Now, everything is neat and tidy:

Heliamphora thrive in my conditions between march and june. I can't wait!

Very nice effort . . .

How old are the H. folliculata and H. exappendiculata plants?

I received both of them as small and very small plants, respectively 5 and 2 years ago.

Thanks!

François.

Very very nice plants & setup François

I recognise the hair line crack from some of my plants!!

Are the terrariums customised by you? I like the idea of the sliding glass front. Pity I have not seen anything like that over here.

cheers

Hello,

I'm glad you like the plants!

Bill, those terrariums with sliding doors are easily available here. The hard thing is to find the one with the good dimensions.

Daniel, some of my plants always look better when I'm away ;-)

My Heliamphora are grown in my garage. Tempratures are quite low, between 7°C and 18 °c. The winter has been a bit too long and plants like H. ciliata and "Tequila" are waiting for spring and summer. My set up is very simple: a lots of light and plants placed in a non isolated garage. I use peat, gravel and sand as a mix, the very same recipee I use for my Sarracenia. ;-)

My Drosera don't look that good at the moment (they're just OK to me) because the day temperatures have been too low for too long. They are starting to grow nicely again. I shall post some pictures quite in spring.

Cheers,

François.
