 Welcome to CPUK
| The Carnivorous Plants UK Forum was started in March 2002. CPUK is a long running friendly forum with over 3000 members from all over the world. The membership is made up of growers from the novice to the very experienced. We have a huge database of information from over 175,000 posts covering all types of carnivorous plants. We have tips on propagation, cultivation and equipment needed to keep your plants healthy. A large database of photos can be found on the forum taken by growers of their collections and also of plants seen growing in the wild.
|
CPUK is an excellent place for trading plants and seeds in our For Sale & Wants forums. Buy well grown plants from growers private collections at very good prices. |
Over the years the members CPUK have raised 1000's of pounds for conservation and have made donations to The Carnivorous Plant Society and Meadowview Biological Research Station for The Joseph Pines Preserve We are still committed to conservation and continue to raise money from the plant auctions held on the forum. |

Carnivorous Plants and their Habitats Volume One
Growing in some of the most barren and extreme habitats of our world, carnivorous plants are adapted to very specific environmental conditions which must be understood for their successful cultivation. This work profiles the natural habitats and environmental requirements of each genus of carnivorous plants to provide horticulturists with a clear and focused understanding of the specific conditions which these remarkable plants require. By understanding the strange worlds in which these unusual and often spectacular plants naturally grow, horticulturists will be better equipped to successfully cultivate and study them |

Carnivorous Plants and their Habitats Volume Two
Carnivorous plants are the most unusual of all flowering plants. So called because they have evolved the unique ability to attract, trap, kill and digest insects and other small animals. These plants turn the tables of the natural world and prey on fauna in order to augment nutrients that are otherwise not available in the often harsh and extreme habitats in which they grow. This work examines the wild ecology and natural diversity of all known genera of carnivorous plants and examines the remarkable and often spectacular means by which they trap and kill animal prey. |
