  1. It's about time all of you saw my mug. It's crappy, yes, but i had to take it myself.
  2. D. capensis, i find, is harder to kill than to keep alive. If it has experienced a frost, the grow point may very well be dead, but the roots will survive as long as they have not been frozen, and it will return to life from them.
  3. The leaves on my N. reinwardtiana look similar to the leaves on that. That could be a possible identity. I am not familliar with the leaves of N. gracilis, so i'm not sure.
  4. Man i want a D. villosa where can i get one?
  5. *Picks up knife* *walks outside to greenhouse*
  6. There are highland and lowland forms. If it was a cheap plant, then it's lowland. If it was ridiculously expensive, it was highland.
  7. Okay, thanks. I was just a bit dissppointed because there are other plants that are much rarer, larger, etc. It would have been neat if it were a D. peltata or a D. nitidula, or something that was less common. Oh well, i have one more plant on my growlist now. :)
  8. Windowsills are fine, you may need some extra light for a happy plant, but it will definitely survive.

    Taste buds

I've heard that before. It's still pretty cool though.
  10. My windowsill growlist (before purchasing my greenhouses) Highland: x Ventrata alata ventricosa sanguinea macfarlanei ephippiata burbidgeae macrophylla (with great difficulty, not a beginner's plant) maxima Lowland: bicalcarata (NOT HAPPY) truncata (pitchered, but grew slower) rafflesiana (happy) For macfarlanei, ephippiata, burbidgeae, and macophylla, be prepared to get night drops in to the 50s, with a LOT of misting. Bical needs misting too, but warmer temps. X Ventrata, alata, ventricosa, sanguinea, truncata, maxima, and rafflesiana should be fine without any major pampering. Hope i helped! Dave 8)
  11. Darn, i was hoping it was a pygmy... Oh well, what matters more is that i know what it is! Thanks, i would welcome more opinions though, just to make sure.
  12. Most of my neps are in regular pots, but i have three plants that are in hanging, there should be a third choice: Some in hanging, some on ground.
  13. I had a tarantula once. It was a chilean rose hair. I would let it sit on my head while i did homework. He was my best friend. It tried to climb to the top of it's cage one day, and it fell down. The poor guy died. I cried for about an hour. What do you mean you don't get close to them? Anyway, i must have missed the part about the size, but if you've seen a tarantula, most of it's width is in the legspan. The abdomen isn't that large at all.
  14. Did you ever consider that the tarantulas might not be of mature size? Anyway, that is pretty neat. I actually fed a peice of roast beef to a nep once (Ventrata) and it was just fine.
  15. I have heard that keiki paste (no idea where to get it, looking for it myself) will make that plant look like a bush if you put it on the leaf nodes.
  16. So, i can propogate that 'tarnok' after all...
  17. Use 1/2 peat and 1/2 perlite, and keep it well watered, and it will thrive on your windowsill. Don't worry.
  18. They're in my greenhouse right now. Plenty humid in there.
  19. I found another plant of the same in the pot today. These leaves look more round than the other one's do, but this is also smaller. I have a lot of reason to believe that it's the same type.
  20. Well most of the leaves that were drooping were almost totally upside down. Besides, i wanted to do some cuttings anyway. I am doing them the same way i do capensis, sitting on soil and partially buried under the media to hold them down, and to help them to stay hydrated.
  21. Thanks, i don't really mind that though. Do i root the same way as capensis? Put a bit o soil on top of the cutting to hold it down and get it more water? Can i just float it in water too? I think that was answered already, but i just wanna make sure.
  22. Thank You! I just want to get rid of those annoying floppys. And i wanted to make uses of them. Thanks Jonathan.
