Loakesy
I have to confess that I'm an Aroid flower virgin. In other words, I have no idea: a week or two perhaps!
greenBen
I had one flower.... last year or the year before. The spathe stayed tightly closed for what seemed like an eternity until one morning when, on my way out to work, I stood on the doorstep and could smell it from 20ft! Fingers crossed yours won't take too long (but it will probably still open overnight). greenBen

Loakesy
After having found a nice spot for this plant in the garden it was banished to the allotment just the other day. Fortunately the shock of the move wasn't enough to stop this: It smells a bit!!
LJ
Excellent flower Andy, thanks for posting another pic now its opened Is the smell quite bad or is it bareable?? I guess being outside rather than in a enclosed greenhouse must help quite a bit with the smell. Heather
Loakesy
The smell is definately not nice. Vaguely reminiscent of a fridge full of meat, that's been switched off and left for about a week! At the same time the smell isn't that powerful. HookedOnFish
Would the smell be bad enough to have the neighbours complaining?
nadja77
I bet the flower makes up for the bad smell though. What an interesting looking plant!

Amar
Very cool!...How or what kind of stench do the flowers produce? Rotten meat smell? Musky skunk? Moldy cellar smell? Athletes foot perhaps? Im curious...DexFC putrid sh** mixed with rotten meat. ;)
