    Red Piranha?

Hi guys Not the same plant but I found this B52 on ebay just the other day. It's quite cheap I thought, so I asked the seller if the plant was the real deal. The seller told me the original plant was purchased from someone in Germany but I was still unsure as to the plants pedigree. Then I noticed at the bottom of the advert the seller added this comment: many people have been asking the question, Is the plant an original B52 and not a G16, i have named this item a B52 based upon the following websites: The seller goes on to list a number of sites with B52's pictured. So now I shall steer well clear as it seems the seller has named this plant B52 because it looks similar. Could this person just be misinformed? Here's the link to said plant if anyone would like to look for themselves. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dionaea-muscipula-Ve...=item20b28c2f39 To anyone thinking of buying this plant I would think carefully about it first. Could be a genuine B52 but I wouldn't want to take the risk. Cheers Lee
  2. If those are growing well and look healthy I'd say go for it and just keep things the same.
  3. Hello there You didn't say if you already grew VFT's or not. Assuming you do I would say treat it as you would any other VFT. If you don't already grow them I'm sure you can find everything you need to know on these forum pages. Anything specific just ask and I'm sure someone will be good enough to answer your questions. It's a great looking plant though. Good luck and hopefully good growing Lee
  4. Wow both amazing plants if stable. I especially like the VFT that really would be a very desirable plant. I wish you the best of luck with both Guillaume. All the best Lee
  5. Hi everyone What with winter now on it's way I was wondering about the hardiness of different VFT cultivars and clones. Does anyone find certain cultivars/clones any less hardy than the typical types? Or does anyone have trouble with keeping certain cultivars/clones alive and healthy at any other time of year? Thanks a lot Lee
  6. Wow that is one amazing Moth caterpillar and the moth itself is pretty special also. Great colouration on the caterpillar, the appendages give it a very strange appearance, and the moth has a very impressive pattern, almost looks like Tiger stripes in places. I found a few Elephant Hawk Moth caterpillars in my garden earlier this year and was lucky enough to find one of the adult Moths a while latter. I found both the caterpillars and Moth to be quite impressive as I've rarely seen them before. I even went indoors to find a book so i could identify it, oh and to grab my girlfriend to show her but she was not half as impressed as i was, I'd even go as far as to say she seemed very unimpressed given her speedy exit back into the house. Do you keep any other creepy crawlies ? Would like to see some more pic's if you have them. I wish you all the luck with these Regards Lee
  7. For me it would have to be one of these 3 I can't quite decide in which order. Red Piranha: love the colour and the teeth. Trichterfalle aka funnel trap: I find all the ridges on the petioles makes for a very strange looking plant plus you get the funnel traps. cupped trap: very interesting traps. Ahh make that out of 4 I really like fused tooth also. I'm going to stop there I could keep adding to this list there's quite a few interesting cultivars and clones for me I just cant make my mind up. Lee
  8. Thanks a lot everyone. You've all been a great help and I'm feeling a little better about the situation now. All the newest emerging growth seems fine. I know it's still early days but i feel a little more confident the main plant and divisions will pull through now with a little TLC. I'll keep you all updated on the plants progress. Thanks again Lee
  9. Thanks a lot ada, I think I'll take you're advice as I really don't want to loose this plant('s) as it's one of my favorite's. A little late now I know but just for future reference when would be the best time for dividing Ceph's ? Thanks guy's Lee
  10. Cephman: you've eased my worries a little, as the growth points still look ok Ada: The plant in question is growing on my bedroom window sill and has been for the past year and a bit and seemed to be quite happy growing there until I started to mess with it. I did try to be very careful not to damage the roots whilst dividing but i think it inevitable that i damaged some.
  11. Ok thanks a lot guy's. I'll try and nurse it back to health as best I can and maybe have a go at increasing the humidity. Thanks again Lee
  12. Hi everyone I recently (about a week ago) split one of my ceph's. This is my first attempt at doing this and I'm a little worried as some of the previously healthy pitchers and leaves seem to have gone a little limp, also one or two pitchers that were forming have gone yellow and look as if there on there way out. The actual growth point's still look ok at the moment though. Is there anything i can do to help the plants recover or is it a case of just hoping for the best? I'm now wishing I'd have just left it be Any advice would be much appreciated as I'm a bit of a novice where Ceph's are concerned. Thanks a lot Lee
  13. Hi The Gaboon Viper is really nice, a little dodgy as a pet for me though. I did used to have a Bosc monitor though for about 4 years.
  14. A very interesting and great looking plant Geoff. I hope the TC plants stay stable for you. Fingers crossed. Thanks for the pic's and update. Lee
  15. Very nice I think it's the first time ive seen this Utric. The strange flower looks as if it's about to take flight very interesting. Thanks Lee
