Recommended Posts

Hello to all,

First of all, sorry for my English... :?

Paranapiacaba is a small town of Santo André, a city in the Greater São Paulo.

Train station of Paranapiacaba. Does it remind you of anything? (look the tower in the left).

On November 12th I went to the State Park of Paranapiacaba, but I didn't find CPs there...

So, on November 26th I returned there after this failed attempt to find them and managed to do it.

I went there again on January 7th. The pics are a mix of these two last trips.

But, it wasn't easy to find them. I walked, walked and walked and no CPs...

However, there were some interesting plants/creatures in the way:

Vriesea hieroglyphica, a wonderful bromeliand in danger because of the ilegal collect:

Some interesting red mushrooms:

But, no CPs...

When, very exausted, I look to a groove and see a red thing...

Unfortunately, the flowers were not blossomed because it was around 2 pm...

When...

D. ascendens var. alba!!!????

No, it was only a plant growing in a low luminosity place...:lol::lol:

Looking at the grooves around, I found another Drosera. It was a small population of D. communis. Looking more carefully once more (after a little help of Fernando Rivadavia, who gave me some hints) I found an enormous population. However, I didn't take pics of the place where I found them, sorry!

Doesn't it look like D. viridis? :?

Unfortunately, I didn't find these species there... Maybe next time!

I hope you enjoyed!

SOON: CPs in Minas Gerais State, lots of pics and species of sundews, Utrics and Genls.! 8)

Hi throckmoron!

Thanks!

Yes, it seems very dry. When I saw them the first time, I thought that it was impossible them survive well like that. However, we are talking about the Atlantic forest, were the humidity and temperature are always high, the fog is persistent and rain almost everyday.

To eyes it look dry, but touching it was perceptible that the soil was moist.
