danielfurman634
I'm fairly new to carnivorous plants so unfortunately, this plant ended up dying half a year ago but somehow new shoots have appeared and some shoots are coming from the dead stalk. Please explain this... Sent from my K4000_PRO using Tapatalk
corky
You were lucky, the plant didn't die and has sent out shoots from dormant buds, at the base of each leaf is a dormant bud and when cuttings are taken this is where the new growth appears
tatter
what a good job you did not throw it out when you thought it had died. Good luck this time around Jim

Good luck this time around JimThanks :) I had a few other plants that died because I was a bit busy with exams last year. I'm growing this on my windowsill and there's a radiator right underneath for the winter months. Will it be alright under the radiator because I know there's convection that could affect it...Sent from my K4000_PRO using Tapatalk
manders
It should be fine, ventratas dont usually grow pitchers in the winter anyway and the dry air off the radiator wont affect the leaves much. Just give it as much light as possible over the winter.
danielfurman634
One final question: I'm thinking of propagating these into separate pots. Should I do it now in the autumn/winter months because I don't want to disrupt their growth. Also, should I separate each basal shoot in different pots ?I'm growing them all in a south facing window so they don't get the full sun and i spray my current plant with rain water twice a day to encourage humidity. Will it be alright if I grew them all here as I'm 16 so i don't have enough money or time to make a greenhouse.Sent from my K4000_PRO using Tapatalk
