Rodrigo
I will be brief in my question, is there any trick in to clone P. moctezumae by leaf cutting? I ask this because, i have friends that have this CP and are not able to get seedlings using this technique. Best regards, Rodrigo
kisscool_38
To my knowledge, this is one of the most difficult mexican species to reproduce by leaf cutting (this is to say, nearly impossible). Sowing this species is much easier.
jimscott
I've been doing this. I'll take a picture and post it tomorrow.
jimscott
I just place the leaves on the media, uncovered and unattended. Some don't strike but most do. The worst has to be P. gypsicola for striking.

Rodrigo
Jim, thank you for posting pictures of your leaf cuttings of P. moctezumae. Based on these images, i deduce that the substrate has to be very moist and the site should have excellent lighting. And this, or am i mistaken? Aymeric, if possible post pictures of their clones of P. gypsicola. Best regards, Rodrigo
Dieter
Hi Rodrigo, I propagate P. moctezumae mostly via seeds, but leaf cuttings sometimes also work for me. But the seeds essentially need less attention, which is why I prefer them. P. gypsicola is quite easy to propagate from the winter leaves in my experience. Cheers Dieter
Mantas
Both of my gypsicolas had passed away, dunno why. P.moctezumae grows many small plants out of adult ones
jimscott
P. moctezumae seems to like the media more moist than most Mexican butterworts. As to P. gypsicola, I have a significantly higher non-strike rate, relative to other Mexican butterworts. Such is my experience...
