armyranger10a
I want to get a Pinguicula and im not sure what type of Pinguicula can withstand temps of 15-20'f (-9'c) in the winter, and in the summer 80'f-100'f (26-37'c).
Stefan P
http://www.sarracenia.com/faq/faq5460.html That page has temperate and Artic Ping's although -9˚ is not artic its cold enough!
jimscott
I would say nearly all of them! The North American and especially the Mexican pings can take these temps with ease. I know, I had mine at unheated window sills between two apartments, where they only drew heat from the what the apartments gave off.
armyranger10a
Well I just bought a P. macroceras - Horned Butterwort. It lives in Alaska and Canada so it should be able to handle being outside during the winter.
jeff 1
all temperate ping except all crystallina species can grow in -9°c , but at this temperature they are in dormance under a hibernaculae form. jeff Edited April 7, 2008 by jeff
