Those pine needles is what makes that soil acidic, and I actually collect pine needles then cut them to put in my bogs and pots of Sarracenias, Droseras and Flytraps. You honestly think so? I think that we are still very dependent on peat and I have yet to see any serious research into any viable alternatives.
