Nepenthes saranganiensis

The description of N. saranganiensis (Kurata) was published in the Journal of the Insectivorous Plant Society (Japan) volume 54, number 2, page 41 (April 2003) [in Japanese]; and also, volume 54, number 3, (July 2003).

Perhaps one of our members with access to that journal could look it up?

I think I remember seeing a composite pic of several different views of the plant in habitat posted on the web a year or so ago. Maybe it was a scan from the Japanese journal posted without permission: anyway, I can't find it now.

As I recall, the plant looked very close to alata (which doesn't give much of a clue as to it's altitude :?)

Cheers,

Tony.

Hi,

N.saranganiensis is very similar to N.alata. The only difference is that N.saranganiensis has decurrent leaf bases which N.alata has not.

To my knowledge N.saranganiensis is an epiphyte restricted to one single mountain.

Greetings

Thomas.
