Nepenthes Nut
As promised, I have taken a few photos of how I set up this system so I can leave the bog for extended periods without having to worry as much. First I sealed the planter.. Then cut a hole in the back for an over flow: Then installing a hose pipe connector to the water butt by replacing the tap: And the same with the header tank and ballcock valve usually used in lofts for cold water regulation: The lower connection goes via a pipe through the overflow pipe and down a vertical pipe to show the water level: The water flows in via siphon from the header tank which then fills up from the water butt as the water level lowers... All connections were also sealed with copious amounts of silicon sealant.. This has only been in for a few rainy days so I am not sure if it is managing the water level or if that is just all this rain we have had... i will let you know of its success or failure...
