  1. Thank you, I'll try reducing the amount of light. The said, I've only had the light for about 3 weeks. The troubles started before then (but the new red leaves seem to correspond to the light in terms of timing). Is it also normal that the brown parts of the stems seem much thinner than the green fleshy parts? Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  2. Hi Mark, thankfully temperatures are on the rise now and are around what you suggest. I keep it on a sort of enclosed window ledge, with both artificial and natural lighting, but have no temperature or humidity control (other than misting). In winter, relative humidity is around 40-50%, summer around 70-90%. Average temp in winter I would venture to guess are around 10-12C, summer around 30C.Do you think that it should start recovering now the temperature are rising? Or should I try to take a cutting while the top of the stems are still green and appear healthy? Thank you. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  3. Hi, my 9 month old nep bloody Mary seems to be slowly dying... It grew amazingly week at first then started deteriorating as winter came along, temperatures never dropped below about 7c and when they did get that low it wasn't for very long (no more than a day or two). A lot of the lower leaves started going brown and dry, so I cut those off and it seems the stems are quite brown too. Several leaves have turned an odd blotchy yellow/black, and it is not really producing new pitchers. The newer leaves seem to be turning very red/brown. I would really like to try save this nep, and would appreciate any help. I've attached some photos: Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  4. Hi, thanks for replying, the stems look fine to me:
  5. Hello, it seems I have questions for you knowledgable folk here again! I've been keeping a close eye on my Nep since I posted, and it seems to be developing brown patches higher up. The leaf in the photo is the 3rd leaf from the top, so it's quite new. There are also a lot more dead leaves/pitchers lower down (though I suppose this is normal?) Could this be a sign of under watering? The leaves also don't look as deep green as before and aren't as big, and there are no new large pitchers being formed, though is this because it is winter right now?
  6. Oh, that's a relief. Thanks! If it seems to start on the newer leaves, I'll update this.
  7. Hi, Thanks for your replies, here's a photo of the first leaf that went brown with some other more recently browned leaves next to it. The growing conditions I'm not too sure how to describe... temperature-wise the area it's in goes from ~32-15 degrees in summer-winter, water-wise I used to water it 3 times a week, then it seemed to be getting too wet (and the temperature dropped recently so it needed less water) so I reduced it to about once a week. Medium is a mix of long fibre sphagnum, cocopeat (rinsed, no salt), and perlite. If there's anything more specific you'd like to know please mention it!
  8. Hi all, I joined this forum because I need some help. I have a lovely nep "bloody Mary" which is about half a year old. It was growing very well up until about a month and a half ago, then suddenly started developing brown patches on one leaf, followed by the pitcher on that leaf shrivelling up near the top. Other leaves have started showing brown patches too, and the pitchers it is producing seem to be smaller than before. I'm in Hong Kong, so cold temperature is not a problem. Does anyone have any ideas? I'd post aphoto, but I'm not sure how (maybe because I'm on my phone). Thanks!
