Well the a occasional kitten or small child seems to do wonders for the plant, but when I can’t find one those I use crickets with some success.
Andreas
I was sad to hear that Johannes lost his large N. rajah last year.
Daniel
I have had that plant for about 5 ½ years.

Hello,
Here are some photos of my biggest N. rajah I grow. The pitcher is over 29 cm tall and 40.6 cm around the outside of the rim. If you know of anyone with near flowering size N. rajah please let me know as I would love to get in contact with them when mine flowers.

“What mix are they growing in??”
Pure LFS.
"What are your growing conditions for this plant? "
Well just true highland condition never above 78 F and about 49-56F every night. My humidity never drops below 70%. I did grow them in a freezer grow chamber but they out grew that very quickly. I have not had them in the freezer since 12-16-2004. Since I'm in Colorado at over 6000 feet a.s.l cooling is not a problem for 3/4 of the year, right now it is 27 F outside. In the summer I use a swamp cooler to keep it cool and humid. The hottest the greenhouse that the N. rajah is in has ever gotten is 85F on July 21 of 2005 and that was only for about 3 hours and the low that night was 59F in the GH.
Thanks

I got my S. rubra Long Lid from Jeremy Roy a few years ago.
Thanks so much for ID, I have a real problem with my small terrestrial Utricularia jumping pots. I would love to see how someone with a large collection of Utricularia can keep that from happening.
Thanks again for your help,

Oh yeah, but I guess I would call it more hiking then climbing, I have not done anything with ropes. We like get up to the Mountains as much as possible. Here are a few photos from last fall. I don’t think there is a place on earth that I would rather be the Colorado in the fall, well maybe Mt. Kinabalu but I don’t think I would want to live there.

I just took this photo from out deck looking west with a 60mm lens. It was raining everywhere else and very dark but the peak was lit up nicely.
