Temperate pings wake up now!

Recommended Posts

Hay all

Noticed last night one of my temperate pings was starting to wake up. As this is my first spring with temperate pings, when should I expect them all to be growing?

I have also planted temperate ping seed outside, any ideas when this will spring into action?

I'm interested to know when the gemmae start to show positive signs too :-)

About half of my temperate Ping species are now showing signs of waking up, the rest should all follow suit over the next few weeks, providing they all made it through the winter! Some temperate Ping seed I've sown began germinating last week and hopefully more will do the same over the next month or so.

All my plants are housed in an unheated cold frame, which is only closed when temperatures are forecast to drop below freezing.

I'll have a good look in daylight and keep my fingers crossed until then. :)

Same here.

Pi. longifolia ssp. longifolia started very early for me this year. During the very low temperatures I put the bowl in my coldframe. Now the first flowers should open any day.

All other plants are either just starting to grow or are still dormant.

Cheers,

Dieter

All mine are waking except the corsica, but I expect they will open up in the next week or two. :D
