Guest Aidan
Rogier - You haven't cleaned up the Dionaea yet then...
Rogier
You have me now! Actually I have taken away only the most of the black leaves from the Dionaea, as when repotting them I remove the last black leaves... And my second excuse ( ) is that those pots were on the back row (my benches are 1,20 metre wide) I can tell you I have a blister on my thumb from clipping! Alexis
Nice and neat Rogier. Do you just snip off dead growth or do a general pruning of everything?

Langy
Hi, Rogier Nice photos, your collection looks very neat, no doubt someone will be asking you to help them with their own cutting back! :wavey: Langy
Rogier
Hi, RogierNice photos, your collection looks very neat, no doubt someone will be asking you to help them with their own cutting back! :wavey: Langy Whoops! You have a point there... I guess I am not allowed to tiday away my clipping tools then.... Alvin: I indeed clip off everything, except phylodia of course. I find it cost me too much time to leave every (partially) good pitcher unclipped, as I have to do clipping every weekend until may!
Alexis
I suppose this would happen in the wild if there were winter fires. Do you find any setback with doing this? Or does the extra light each plant gets as a result of being less crowded compensate?
Mike King
Hi Rogier, Now that you have done yours, fancy coming over here and lending me a hand? ;) Langy was spot on! :)

Langy
Hi, Rogier Looking at your photos again, I see that you have a waterbutt collection, which could rival Mike Kings someday.. :wavey: Langy
Rogier
Thanks for your reactions guys :) Alexis: I have never really noted any differ in growth / rapidness / coloration when trimming plants completely back in january, or do it partially only the brown pieces until +/- may. Mike: My assistent-advisor will fax you my hour ratings immediately Langy: You are on to my real goal! ...have Europe's most advanced garden water management system!, record currenlty hold by a local citizen in mid-Great Britain... Stevie D
Very ship-shape. An orderly greenhouse is a happy greenhouse. Try to resist the temptation to salute as you walk past them!
Phyrex
Very tidy Rogier. How’s it like, cleaning many greenhouses? Annoying repetitive work or fun anyways? :)
