Wort
Hi, I have a Terrarium planted with various Utricularia species. I use 50/50 Sphagnum/perlite, and I Water with rainwater twice a week, more in summer so that there is standing water up to the top of the substrate level. I use 2 x 11 Watt Solar Stinger Sunstrips for lighting. Both are at 100 percent intensity. My problem is that one or two species flowers are much more pale than in Internet pictures, Specifically U.microcalyx and U.dichotoma "Tasmania", while the yellow of U.prehensilis seems fine. The U.prehensilis "Tasmania" has pink purple colours instead of Dark purple, and the U.microcalyx seems to be white with blue markings. Are they normally so variable? Can any one see what I am doing wrong? Not sure whether this should be posted here or in the Terraria section. Cheers from Bill.
Wort
Hi, I took some ppfd measurements today: 150 umol/m²/S at substrate up to 220 umol/m²/s at U.dichotoma flower stalk apex. No leaves seem to be etiolated, all species normal in that respect. Cheers from Bill.
