Hello everyone,

This plant is a sarracenia flava var rugelii and it has same spots on the top of it every pitcher has them only on the top.

Does anyone know what that might be?

Thanks for your help.

Hi BeyBlade,

I think this is normal ageing of the pitchers and is quite normal and I have noticed this on my flavas around this time of year too. . I notice that your plants otherwise look very healthy.

I think that the spots are where there is a strong concentration of sugars in the nectar.

Best Regards,

Marko

Hi,

All normal, you can limit this effect (as you have already been told due to the sugars of the nectar) by often vaporizing distilled water avoiding when the sun is too strong. Doing so will eliminate excess sugars while avoiding that effect.

Best Regards
