TMCM
Hello guys, I will try to do the pollination of some sarracenia flowers. But some of the flowers already don´t have petals. Do you know if still is possible do the pollination even after the flower lose the petals? And how much time the pollen survive? Thanks you in advance Tmcm Edited April 18, 2020 by TMCM
Alexis
You can't pollinate when the petals have fallen I don't think. The pollen lasts for ages so can you scrape out what is left in the umbrellas for future flowers.
dennisB
If you shake sarracenia flowers they will self pollenate. Bees will normally pollenate flowers but you won't know what hybrid will be produced (ie you won't know who the dad is) unless you take contraceptive methods to get a specific cross.
