Georgyboy
Has anyone used a soaked brickette as used in stoves for burning as a peat medium as I can only buy peat in 40 litre bags ?
pirks
You can buy ready mixed compost online from www.littleshopofhorrors.co.uk or www.hccarnivorousplants.co.uk Edited January 19, 2020 by pirks
Georgyboy
Thanks but wondered if bricketes are basically same type of peat to mix with other substrates ?

Poppy
I have not used them but I do know what you mean. Peat is dug from bogs in Ireland and dried and used for fuel. I once took a delivery of the stuff and put it in the turf shed. This will be sphagnum moss peat but it could harbour other stuff like weeds or disease. I use coir bricks now as I have gone peat free. https://www.nationalgeographic.org/media/peat-forgotten-fuel/ Cheers Adam
