Great to see what they look like - thanks. Especially like the last photo of the one in the middle of the track! What's the soil like there? Looks very sandstone with quite a bit of cover.

They are also called Portuguese dewey pine (pinheiro baboso), they are usually in very well drained soil, sandstone covered with some leafs. They usually are not in areas with too much dirt, only light or superficial, or else too much water retention will kill them. They are usually located in pine tree forests or smaller areas.
