Splitting up sarracenia 1 year old seedlings

Recommended Posts

I have a few pots of 1 year old sarracenias and want to split then up into individual plants and pot them on. Can I do them now? or have I missed the boat and I should have done them early spring?

Thanks

You must have been feeding them to get that big in 12 months!

Splitting them now is fine, they will bounce back in late summer/autumn and be settled in for next spring

Hi Ada,

A couple of osmocote pellets per pot. Also kept them under lights over the winter at work. They will get their first dormancy this winter. I will do the same with the seedlings I have this year from the seeds I got from you.

I wont be giving them any osmocote when I pot them up. They are on their own now.

good, it can make them very "green" and prone to botrytis over winter if they don't use the fertilizer in their system
