Hello from the Netherlands

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody,

I am a carnivorous plant enthousiast from the north of the Netherlands.

I have got a wonderfull bog garden in my front yard with Sarracenia flava, Sarracenia purpurea and Sarracenia leucophylla.

Also in this bog I grow some ping vulgaris, Drosera rotundifolia, Drosera anglica, Drosera intermedia and Drosera hybrida

This year I'm going on holiday to Ireland and North Ireland and would like to know if there are bogs open to the public where the Drosera's and Sarracenia's do grow,

I Found the Bog of Allen Nature Centre  already but was wondering if there are more.

Greetings from the Netherlands

There's a privately owned bog called Termonbarry or Tarmonbarry bog.  It has all the Darlingtonia as well as the purps.  Not sure if you'd be allowed to visit it though.  I'm in Ireland.

Thank you Richard,

I read the report on the forum about the Termonbarry bog (

) I know now that it is privatly owned so I will not go there ( as a landowner myself I don't like people tresspasing on my property, so I will not do it on others)

I absolutely will go to the bog of Allen Nature centre.

Greetings from the Netherlands
