Collapsed pitcher

Recommended Posts

Hi all

What's happened here, please?

This pitcher was fine yesterday.  This morning it had bent over.

Thanks.

I've had this happen to me before when I got a new Darlingtonia a couple of years ago.  It happened quite rapidly when I left a new Darlingtonia in full sun in the heat of the greenhouse for a few hours.  So I'm convinced that my case was overheating.

Thanks

How hot is too hot?  And might it recover, or should it be removed?

In a greenhouse in full sun at 2pm kinda heat.  I didn't measure the temp that day but it gets HOT.  Just leave the pitcher as it is.  It's still photosynthesising.

It happens every so often - don't worry and just leave as is until it dies back. A strong wind can do a fair bit of pitvher bending too!
