I've had a search on the forum for info about growing them, and on the internet. So I know the information is fairly well available. I was just wondering if any of you have any personal experiences with this, or almost this, variety, maybe you can add some special points for greater success? (I have questions like, how sandy should the mix be? Should I use gibberellic acid? Will they be ok at room temperatures through the winter, etc., etc., etc., ad infinitum) Or any internet links to particularly good information that you know of? Manifold thanks! They are currently soaking gibberellic acid, which I tried to get to 350ppm, but I couldn't get it all to dissolve properly. I had to use about 10ml of isopropanol to try to dissolve 0.2g of gibberellic acid, and even though I warmed it up it didn't all dissolve, and I was afraid to add any more in case it harmed the seeds. Then this all went into about 650ml water, with just a tiny hint of Ecover washing up liquid. I'd never seen D. macrantha seeds before, and thought for a moment I had been given some small organic debris instead. Little-Bacchus Posted October 19, 2017 Report Share Posted October 19, 2017 I can't comment on the preparation method but I have also marvelled at the size of Drosera seeds. I even think with D. macrantha a lot of the seed looks like papery wings with nothing of substance in them. I wish you the best of luck. Karsty Posted October 19, 2017 Author Report Share Posted October 19, 2017 (edited) After a 24 hour soak in gibberellic acid, these are the seeds... https://photos.app.goo.gl/V4issPE6WeoJJT6s1 This is what I sowed them into... https://photos.app.goo.gl/2FVf8TkZ9mH5a3Jm1 The mixture is 1 part moss peat, 2 parts quartzite sand, with a layer of slate stones in the bottom to keep an eye on the water level, with a sphagnum wick in the bottom centre. I sowed them by washing them in gradually out of the jug with a sprayer. This will now go on my balcony, then my windowsill, which is a bit warmer.
