Do juvenile pitchers eat preys?

Recommended Posts

Hi! I make a stupid question, I know, but discussing with a friend that grows cephalotus follicularis from years he told me that juvenile pitchers can't eat preys... I think it is not true, because I put a small bug in a juvenile pitcher and when it died I open it.... it seems to me that it had a little liquid inside... Isn't true? If I feed juvenile pitchers, do my small plants grow more fast?

They catch prey too but smaller like juvenil flytraps do.

I feel they aren’t as efficient as other species of carnivorous plants. When I cut open two old traps from my juvenile plant they had digestive juices, but no insects inside. The traps were only 2-2.5cms in size.

Maybe they should be grown away from the other types of virocious plants. But I am inexperienced with growing this species.
