olivier marthaler
Hi every Darl grower, As I have to remove plants from outside for the wintertime (Swiss mountains, 1000 m asl), I don't have enough place to store them all (adult and seedling) in a frost-free veranda window. So many might end up in bottom shelves in the said veranda, in real low light (darkness indeed). As the plants would be dormant, do you think it is ok, or do they DEMAND light anyway? Thanks a lot for your opinions and answers, OL
picol
Hi Oliver, plants always need of sunlight and good air circulation even in winter time. Specially if they still have green parts (for photosyntesis) and to avoid mould.
tatter
HI Oliver you could try a rotation system so they all get some sunlight each day and rotation will help with less stagnant air around plants jim
olivier marthaler
Sorry picol and tatter, I was not clear when I mentioned "shelves". Pots would be placed in trays on which fresh air has free access. Simply no direct light... Hope I am writing things more precisely this time :-) Thanks for your advice in all cases, OL
picol
Ok now its clearer, you should assure them as much light as you can because they need it for photosyntesis, even in the dormant period.
