Recommended Posts

See these on eBay looks really dodgy to ne as the plants are really ugly and do not look like the real thing

I'm a little suspicious, because the 'Adrian Slack' of the ad is definitely not an 'Adrian Slack'.

Just clocked these myself.

Not even a sniffs chance of them being real, although the supposed Goldie is a nice yellow ;0)

This chap did buy one of each from me earlier in the year, though the Adrian doesn't look like the real McCoy. The other two look right, though the Leah looks like it's been kept shaded.

One of each earlier in the year, Nigel said.

Looks like the ones he had, it was only 2-3 months back, but hey, I don't have any kind of rights on them and if the guy can make a few quid out of plants he doesn't want to keep, then who am I to complain?! He bought them from me and possession therefore passed to him, so he can do as he chooses.

Yours, not being a diva,

you run a business, sold the plants to him.He can do what he likes with them.

WIthout wishing to sound disrespectful Delta, I'd highly advise against buying a goldie from ebay, (who knows what you'll get) I bought mine from PJ Plants, as Paul did inherit/acquire Marston exotics original stock, as far as I'm aware its the real mccoy.

He charged me £30, this was earlier in the year. I think Paul only allows a certain number out per person though as I was only able to acquire one. Fair enough business practice IMO. A little to a lot of people is better than a lot to one person thus creating a monopoly.

Why would someone go to the expense of buying these sought after clones and allow them to end up looking like compost?. All the gear, no idea as the saying goes........

I guess they will put on a better show next year with some better care but this season is pretty much finished for them I'd say.

Shame.....

If you look carefully on the Adrian slack, on the third picture the label says it's a Moorei x Catesby Adrian Slack, rather than the rare Adrian Slack

Well, it was muggins here that bought the Adrian Slack. I'd only got back into CPs 4-5 months earlier having given my collection away to a botanic garden 15-20 years ago. So I bought it as it had Nigel provenance, supposedly, and thought it could have been hacked around a bit. I was hoping the plant would come back into form but it hasn't. Still the same mutt! emailed the guy twice complaining, no response, said I would check with Nigel, no response. Only when I said it wasn't the plant and that I'd consider talking to people on this forum about it at a got a rather unpleasant reply about me and also comes already in the forum. Hopefully I won't be doing that again!
