Asda Nepenthes

I picked up Lady Luck, Bill Bailey and Suki yesterday, I couldn't resist but they only had these three. The Borneo exotics site http://www.borneoexotics.com says that Susan and Binky are also done in the Biodome range, but I've not seen them yet.

Have people left them in their domes or potted them up?

Mine are in domes, they seem happy so far and one is on my work windowsill which came along at a fortuitous time if you've read my thread!

Do be careful of putting them in full sun without shading. My wife 'helpfully' put them out in the sun one day for me, resulting in the loss of pretty much all the leaves on the specimens she put out.

I think they're from Borneo Exotics. Well done for supporting Rob Cantley!

They are from Borneo Exotics

I've re-potted mine today, as the pitchers were getting crushed against the dome and plastic plate type thing in their domes. The plants have really spread out in their new pots and look nice and healthy young plants

What kind of Asda was this? I guess it was one of the massive ones with a garden centre? Have to go looking!

I got them at the Trafford Park store, but worth a look in other stores. Heres the list of stores on Borneo exotics website http://www.borneoexotics.com/bio-domes/asda_stores.html

They're in most of the stores that carry some houseplants. In my local Asda's they've been flying off the shelves. So far it seems that 'Suki' is more abundant as Lady Luck and Bill Bailey are harder to find. I bought two of each :chiffa:

You could try contacting Borneo Exotics? They replied to my Facebook message very promptly.

If you're desperate I'm sure you could get some shipped over privately from a forum member?

I am to have to check my local one it's on the list, been wanting a nep for a while.

The best of British. I've been ringing around, and haven't found anywhere that's got any left. A few of the bigger places said they'd had some, but they were long since sold out.

I managed to find some! First I looked in my local shop and they had a few Suki's, I then decided to have a look in another Asda nearby and got myself a Bill Bailey. No lady luck but I'm very happy with my two new nepenthes. I am wondering if I should keep it in the dome or repot and also if I should put it onto the windowsill straight away or if I should slowly introduce it to sunlight. Thanks for the heads up on these!

Well done! Can I be cheeky and ask if you would be willing to get me some and post them to me? Don't want to put you out, but I'd love to get one of whichever they have.

As for repotting, they recommend to leave them in the domes until they get too big. Worth reading their web site, and watch the videos.

I re-potted mine straight away as the pitchers were getting crushed against the dome and plate thing, and they seem to be thriving on the kitchen windowsill

How did they come? Never seen one so not sure how well packed they are. Would you be able to put them in a box?

Good to hear they grow well, I think I will keep mine in the dome for a while until they get bigger.

I think they would be OK in a box, I will send you a pm.

You know, one thing I love about this forum is that people are so keen to help each other!

Makes you proud to be a weirdo eh? Well, my family all think I'm weird!
