Hybrids - highland, lowland...?

Recommended Posts

If a highland Nepenthes is crossed with another highland nepenthes, will it automatically be a highland, or will hybrid vigour make it more tolerant of intermediate conditions than the parents?

I've always been led to believe that hybrids are more tolerant than their parents, but does that hold true if both are the same type?

Cheers

Yes, each species makes their own adjustments and so the heterosis will cover, in theory, a wider range of conditions than either parent species might.
