Yossu
Hello, Someone just gave me a cutting of a plant, and said it was a Tiger Orchid. I had a quick look around to check, partly to see how to plant and care for it, and I can't find any pictures that look like what I've got. Anyone know if this is a Tiger Orchid or not? If not, any idea what it might be... Thanks
S Krelbourn
Cosmetically at least, it looks like the Jewel orchid Ludisia discolor , but I have never grown it. Phil

Yossu
Thanks very much to both of you. That's exactly the plant. Looks easy to grow too, which is nice!
manders
Most likely ludisia discolor, its the most common one in uk cultivation. There are a lot of very similar jewel orchids though so could be theoretically something else, flowers would prove it one way or the other. tropicbreeze
I used to have one, the flowers are fairly ordinary but they're mainly grown for their leaves. They like it quite wet. Mine met an untimely end when feral pigs got into my garden, they were one of the many casualties. 1
