James
Hi all my giant Ceph is starting to live up to its name, previous pitchers have been big but this is the biggest so far, and is already measuring 3cm and looks like it's going to be nice and fat ;) Giant Ceph by James Cross, on Flickr Giant Ceph by James Cross, on Flickr Thanks for looking, James Edited October 31, 2015 by James

Mark Anderson
I would be interested to know if it is a named clone as well, nice plant anyway, cheers for sharing Mark
James
It's labelled as "Giant form" so it does seem to be living up to its name so far. Even if it doesn't get huge I'm quite happy with it as it is to be honest James

I am curious because I know most of the seed from my "Giant" that I made available to VCPS went to a European buyer.
James
Hi Marcus sorry but I am not starting yet another heated discussion about where it was originally sourced from etc etc as it tends to get out of hand, sorry (see a recent post on the sales area) I only wanted to show you all how well this little one was doing, which incidentally it still hasn't opened and is swelling nicely. As far as I'm concerned its labelled as "Giant" and it does seem to be getting bigger but I don't buy them for that, yes it would be nice to have cultivar this, cultivar that but I don't buy them for that. I buy them because I like them. And they are at a price I am willing to pay. Don't meant to offend. FredG
I buy them because I like them. The best reason of all James. Long may that continue.

I was just curious to see if was possibly from seed of my plant, which is one of the giants with a mysterious origin, supposedly link to Hummers Giant, but no-one can prove it. I received it labelled as "Giant" and I refuse to change the label due to any real proof of its origin. It gets quite good sized pitchers, especially under better conditions that what I can provide it with. I labelled the seed as "Giant x ?" as I was not certain that they were self fertilised. My seed raised plants are just getting to a good size. I lost the parent plant last year but I have rhizome and leaf cuttings along with seedlings. Deltatango301
That certainly is a very nice plant, next year I will be looking for a giant or hummer or what ever you want to call it. My Cephalotus follicularis has 30mm pitchers maybe they will get bigger next year http://www.pbase.com/canon_boy/image/161773256 Edited November 7, 2015 by Deltatango301
James
Thanks all it has now opened and looks really nice the pitcher is now about 32mm (not including lid), with a bit of luck some of the recent sun we are getting may add a little colour to it.
