Congrats on the very beautiful plant! Could you please inform me (us) how you got the seeds to germinate and the growing conditions of the plant? First attempt with growing this plant failed and your great pictures have inspired me to try again.

Thank you,

Brian

i used  a seedling compost with added perlite approx 1-1 ratio

soak the seeds for 24 hours

surface sow (which is tricky as seeds are sticky!!

and placed in a heated propagator out of bright sun

the plants dont enjoy full sun or the full heat of a summer greenhouse, and keep them above 5c and dry in winter

I grow a few Aristos myself. Is your fimbriata the silver veined form? I've only got the plain green form at the moment.

I also grow A. Sempervirens

A. Macroura

And a hybrid between elegans and grandiflora

I find them extremely easy to grow but have never succeeded in taking cuttings from them.

The Macroura is extremely easy. I usually grow it outdoors for the summer, twining up a tripod of canes. I usually chop it down to a more manageable size in winter and keep it somewhere frost free.
