Krzysio's Nepenthes

Krzysio

Recommended Posts

Icarus, your truncata red is great, it would be a very nice hybrid, but I already pollinated flowers.
Flowers bloomed a few days ago, and I had to pollinate (I had only available pollen from Miranda). I did not know that this nepenthes is a female, the next time I will be looking for pollen much earlier
It is a great pity

Your nepenthes are amazing! I have sat here this evening looking through your pictures and I am in awe! I can only hope that one day I have a collection as beautiful as yours!

That last picture is amazing! May I ask how you grow your seeds? I've got some nepenthes seeds coming and I've read in a few places that they can be a bit hit and miss.

The most depend on the quality and freshness of the seeds - it guarantees the number of seedlings that germinate.
I use the substrate of the mix peat : coco husk (coco chips) : perlite - 2:2:1, it offers very stable conditions. Coco husk limits the growth of bryophytes which may overgrown seedlings. I do not use the substrate of long fiber sphagnum moss, it is very poor in nutrients and with time tends to become too compact and retain too much water, and in the sun too quickly dries on the surface. It does not ensure stable conditions and the seedlings grow very slowly, and many die.
All seedlings I growing in the greenhouse under lowland conditions - temperature day/night 26/22 degrees, and humidity at the level of over 85%.

11 hours ago, Icarus said:

please save one of those hookeriana black seedlings for me ;).

If a few plants survive, it will be no problem.
I hope this will be, because now they are growing very well and I can start feeding them.
