Swerfer
I noticed a mutant Drosera rotundifollia leaf today. Two leaves on one leafstalk. My question as follows: Will the genetics of this part of the leaf produce two leafed stalks when I take a cutting for propagation? Does anyone have experience with twoleaved Drosera rotundifollia and cloning this? I Will try to post a photo of the leaf lateron.Regards,Youri Edited May 22, 2015 by Swerfer
Dieter
Hi Youri, it may be more likely the plant is not mutated but was disturbed during development leading to the malformed leaf. In that case you will only get normal plantlets from your cutting. Fortunately, not any irregular growth has genetic reasons (and therefore is a mutant). mantrid
+ts very unlikely that it is anything to do with the gene expression as its just one leaf on one plant. Probably due to a local disruption to some of the dividing cells in the growing region
