winter dormancy

Hi

Ive got my first Flytrap this spring. And Ive now started to think about the winter dormancy. I wont be able to give it anyplace cold enough inside my appartment so I need to have it outside in anyway. We usually have rather cold winters here with about minus 5-10 degrese. So I was thinking about putting it in a isolated box on the balcony. But to keep it from freezing I guess I need to put the lid on on the box. So my question is: Can I place it in the dark box on my balcony and just leave it there for a couple of months? (Ive heard somethibg about putting it in the refrigiator and I guess this is something similair? )

If so can I just take it from inside directly to the box?

When Ive read about it some say it can stay in complete darkness others that It needs as much light as always. Some say to just leave it without water and some says to water it once every second week.

Its just a very common flytrap that I got for free when I ordered some nepenthes so Its not a catastrophy if it doesnt make it. But it would be fu to see if I can manage. Who knows I might get some more in the spring if this works out.

Thanks for any help.
