Gaz
Guess who forgot to move his S. horsfieldii out of the greenhouse before the flower opened the other day? Certainly won't do that again. Great little plant but what a pong!
gardenofeden
Nice. What does it smell like?
Gaz
hard to say really, but probably something like very ripe dog faeces, definitely not a carrion smell
elvis
I have this pant! i got it as an "unknown Typhonium" it grows really well for me outside in the garden and has a similar growth habit to Arisarum Probiscodium it multiplies quite quickly & the slighteset "spring "dig-over" spreads the courms everywhere ive never noticed a smell though
Gaz
cheers elvis, nice to know it's hardy enough to grow outdoors. According to bencadlin.co.uk who I bought it from it's recently been moved from Typhonium to Sauromatum. Try growing a few in the greenhouse in pots with all the vents closed when it flowers, that seems to concentrate the smell a tad
