As far as I'm aware, all legally available metal halide lamps in UK require ballasts, including my 35W. Quite decent Heliamphora colouration can be had under LED.... I can't find the reference now, but I recall reading some time ago that self-ballast metal halides are not permitted in EU, or may it was UK, because of their inneficiencies. dimitar Posted January 18, 2015 Report Share Posted January 18, 2015 (edited) Cephalotus "Big Boy" doesn't have reputation being dark clone but as Carl did with his pics, I also can confirm that this clone becomes quite dark under my conditions.
