Koen C.
Amazing veitchii waw! The peristome + lid is almost identical to robcantleyi and I'm starting to wonder why robcantleyi used to be called black truncata instead of black veitchii? Anyway great plants, great potential crosses :)

Dave Evans
Amazing veitchii waw! The peristome + lid is almost identical to robcantleyi and I'm starting to wonder why robcantleyi used to be called black truncata instead of black veitchii? Anyway great plants, great potential crosses :) There are two different kinds of N. veitchii, one is called lowland and the other is called highland, but they are different taxa with differently shaped leaves. The highland one has truncate leaves and is very similar to N. robcanteyi and both of these are very similar to N. clipeata. So happy to see a real N. alata being called "N. alata"
Koen C.
Thanks for explaining, I googled the Highland veitchii and indeed saw another veitchii resembling robcantleyi, but most of them haven't the dark colored peristome. Not many have a beautifull veitchii like the foto's above (for my taste then :) )
Simon Lumb
I dont think any really 'highland' plants personally I would say intermediate.
snapperhead51
I dont think any really 'highland' plants personally I would say intermediate. and the problem is ? you dont think that lowii is high land then, ever climbed up and looked at them , high enough for me when i have done it several times
Dave Evans
Right Simon, I do think both kinds of veitchii are better described as intermediate, but the one with truncate leaves and squat pitchers does occur only above 800 meters from what I recall...
