Pterostylis (Diplodium) fischii

Recommended Posts

My first time to flower this Greenhood orchid species. It flowers at twice the height of Pterostylis coccinea but the flowers are half the size. It's still opening so the 'whiskers' are not quite straight.

Great photos. I've always been fascinated by Pterostylis orchids. Coincidentally, I've only just got back from a trip where I managed to find and photograph some species in habitat. The most interesting were P. recurva and P. barbata.

What an unusual and quirky plant. t looks like a cross between an arisaema and a cypripedium. I love it and congratulations on your achievement.

A double header, the first time I've had one with this genus.
