Cephalotus characteristics

hi

Today, there are many cultivars Cephalotus in the collections. However, it is sometimes difficult to find them characteristics or to differentiate between them. This problem is existing tor dionaea species, where the number of cultivars grown significantly in recent years. In dionaea, differences between clones are not always visible (and not be absent).

What why, I propose to make a description of all existing clones today with the creator's name, the cultivar characteristics (color, size of pitcher ...) and post a picture (aldut plant). The difficulty is that growing conditions have a strong influence on plants charactérisrics (color, size of pitchers ...). what why, for the same clone, there may be pictures from different growers.

if there are errors, precision add, you can let me know. This topic will be edit, when i have news informations.

I want to thank everyone who participated and will participate in the long and difficult work to provide the most complete description of these clones.

'Brewer's red' : I first started out calling the plant "Brewer's Red", but this didn't seem catchy enough, so I decided to call it "Brewer's Beauty" because of the color. Under ideal conditions, a mature plant will produce a 3" pitcher and I have pic's to prove it. 2014, they will be available.

Wonderful plant, but there is a paradox around Cephalotus, thus ,what are "Ideal conditions" ?

this message i get from creator Cherles Brewer

I don’t see any sense to posted photos of people without their permission from the net, thought or quotes as well.

Such pics everyone can find using google search or facebook. However, in this way, people start to think that this pic is taken from your own plant " Brewer's red" and castor123456 wrongly quoted your name above under the pic - Picture by Jozef Havrilcak

I think the idea here is to use own photos. There are enough people who have pictures of theirs plants and if someone wants to take part in this thread he will do.

Well, to avoid future misunderstandings, it is good to post own pics.

Jozef, you have enough Cephs watching your grow list, so post your own pics here, please.

Hi All,

I’m the creator of the “Brewer’s Red” and “Brewer’s Beauty”. These two plants are not registered yet, but I’m hoping to change that. One member asked, “what are "Ideal conditions”?” Ideal conditions mean growing plants under controlled conditions, usually associated with growing them in an aquarium environment. Currently, I have a bunch of plants that are growing in my greenhouse that are sporting 2-1/4 inch pitchers (5.5 cm) and still growing. They are exposed to filtered sunlight, very high temps and lots of humidity. Due to the high temperatures, pitcher growth has slowed, but I’m hoping this will change and the pitchers will continue to grow once the temps start cooling down.

Sorry, I made a mistake for the photo owner. I will contact Charles to ask for his permission.

Indeed, pictures must come from these collection plants. For all the pictures in this topic, I request permission to stick in this topic.

I prefer adult plants to be sure to have charactérices clones.

At any time, you can delete your photos of this topic, if you want. Let me know.

You are welcome to use my photos...I have photos of both the Brewer's Beauty and Brewer's Red (although you have already posted Brewer's Beauty). Since I'm new to this group, I may need a little advice on how to post additional pictures and the majority of my pictures will be of adult plants with 5+cm pitchers. ~Charles
