ihatov1001
This is a site close to my region and where 4 kinds of sudews coexist. The orchids with yellow flowers on the centre ara Epipactis thunbergii. Then the white flowers around them are Drosra peltata. numpty
I didn't actually know that D. peltata grew in Japan. Interesting. Is it common there? It's pretty much disappeared from Taiwan, as far as I know. Thanks for posting.
Gaz
It's always nice to see CPs in habitat, thanks for sharing them.
Rodrigo
Magnificent photos of CPs in nature . Thanks for sharing the photos with us . Note: I didn't actually know that D. peltata grew in Japan. Interesting. Is it common there? It's pretty much disappeared from Taiwan, as far as I know. So we are two, as far as i know this species of Drosera is native to India, Southeast Asia and Oceania . Best regards, Rodrigo
kisscool_38
Great to see CPs native from Japan! Are there Diphasiastrum with Drosera spatulata?
LeeBr
D. peltata doesn't only occur in south and south east asia, it is fairly common in the more southerly parts of east asia. The online Flora of China lists lots of Chinese provinces it occurs in. ihatov1001
Thanks all for the compliments above. They are distributed from the central to the south part of Japan and grow during warm terms unlike the other tuberous sundews in Australia. Hello kiscool_38 I think you are more or less right. They are Lycopodium clavatum. Edited June 14, 2013 by ihatov1001

And I certainly didn't know that. So, summers are wet in these areas of Japan, while winters are dry?
ihatov1001
And I certainly didn't know that. So, summers are wet in these areas of Japan, while winters are dry? We don't have the distinct dry and wet season but the summer is comparatively wet and the winter is dry.

LeeBr
Does Drosera indica also occur in your area? It seems to occur widely in East and South Asia as well, although perhaps not as far north as D. peltata. LeeB.

They aren't seen at this site but at the nearby site although I've never visited there.
