Davy
It seems that DIY/Garden Centre based stores have gone along whith the wishes of the Soil Association and other lobbying groups... http://www.soilassoc...eholdpesticides Which is all well and good...but what have they given as an alternative? Dave Evans
This is stupid! How about explaining to people not to lace their flowering plants with neonicotinoids? It is a pretty simply thing to avoid spraying or applying to flowering plants.
FredG
This way it's even simpler. If you can't get it you can't use it.

It is a pretty simply thing to avoid spraying or applying to flowering plants. unfortunately, people are lazy. and the vast majority couldn't give one solitary crap about the side effects of their pesticide use. as chemicals like pesticides tend to have something of an adverse effect on CP's in many cases, we all probably have a greater awareness of the potential side effects than the average joe and can recognise that spraying the stuff willy nilly about the place is a pretty daft thing to do. manders
I found they dont work on some things anyway, a good spray with isopropanol is one alternative. Its difficult for bugs to develop resistance to dehydration... (not good for soil drenching though)
Ian Salter
Malathion was the best particularly when sprayed willy nilly about the greenhouse and no sooner than I had regained conciesness and was breathing normally everthing in the greenhouse was dead, Greenfly, Spiders, Woodlouse, Fluffy bunny rabbits....... And now we lose Provado that at least killed greenfly, What's the world coming to?
