woodini254
Hi My Drosera madagascariensis has now gone dormant which it has done now for three years with out any problems. I was wondering if it was ok to trim all the dead leaves of or is it better to just leave it alone. Thanks for any advice. Rich

m@ti
Wow, it's good to know that this drosera needs dormancy. I have a few D. madagascariensis since 3 years and they never tried to take a rest. Can you describe the conditions which has to be provided to correct dormancy of this plant ? I'll be ready when mine droseras will go sleep.
gardenofeden
They don't need dormancy, but if you keep them cool they will die back to the roots.
dudo klasovity
They dont go dormant in the real sense, but when you dont give them enough light/warmth they tend to die on the surface and then recover from roots when it gets warmer. Therefore very deep pots are an advantage when growing them. Also it is good to keep the substrate only slightly moist during the dormancy. m@ti
Thanks for that information. What about flowering of these plants? They needs dormancy to produce flower or they can do it without it ? I asking because my plants didn't flowered yet.
