linuxman
With the poor weather things aren't as far along as I'd wish, but we're getting there. Here are a few photos of the state of my greenhouse at the moment. With a bit more sun hopefully the colours will improve. Left side of greenhouse S. flava var. rubricorpora (should colour up nicely) There's a S. flava var. rugelii in there somewhere Flower of S. x 'Veiny thing' almost finished A large S. x 'Brooks hybrid' hiding behind a S. x 'Marston Mill' flower A S. x harperi showing its S. minor influence The next two are my current favourites. S. oreophila 'Sand Mountain' S. leucophylla 'Helmut's delight' An unknown hybrid with a very wide neck and hood. I might like it more if it had some colour other than green. D. californica showing more upright pitchers this year And even 'Othello' is starting to grow more adult pitchers
shentloc
Hey there! Beautiful plants, good job! Love your Helmut :) I guess mine is gonna show pitchers like that as well this year, but since I'm growing everything outside, things a bit slow to start this year. Cheers, Stefan
alexa
We're having the same lack of sun problems here in the UK, many of my plants are a bit behind as well, but hopefully things will turn around soon. Cheers Alex
TheInactiveMoth
Very nice - I wish my plants were so far along!
Gekon
Nice looking plants! :) Same here in Manchester- not much sun :/ However, since a couple of days (weeks?) it finally started to shine! Edited May 11, 2012 by Gekon
meizwang
Plants are looking healthy-I espeically like the flavas in the first picture! Also very jealous of your leuco Helmut's delight-that clone hasn't seem to make it's way to the other side of the pond yet. How has the weather been for the past month in your area? linuxman
Love your Helmut :) I guess mine is gonna show pitchers like that as well this year, but since I'm growing everything outside, things a bit slow to start this year. Cheers, Stefan I was pleasantly surprised how well it's grown this year. I only got it over the winter and it's been the first leuco to develop pitchers. The rest are weeks behind. How has the weather been for the past month in your area? We've had the wettest April on record apparently. It's also been cold - especially overnight, but there has been the odd bright day. Mostly I've kept the greenhouse door shut to compensate. So, not great. But at least it has been good today. Back to rain on Monday
Devon.B
The flava var maxima really stands out - I wish mine could look that nice. I can't wait to see these when they're more colourful!
SoLongFairWell
I got a S. oreophila 'Sand Mountain' last year from Hampshire Carnivores and it was my favourite plant last year. I also got one of their all green maximas to go with my Slack's clone that came from Southwest Carnivores. The Slack cultivar is rapidly turning into a triffid. This year is it's thirds season with me. Was average the first year, fairly standard last year but this year there's loads of growing points plus the rhizome is errupting in little red 'acne'. I'm assuming it's an explosion of new growing points. So the next two years will be interesting with that plant.
linuxman
I counted 14 open pitchers on that flava, with more to come! It came from Hampshire CPs as well. I've had it about 2 years now and it's certainly grown well!
