Continuing the flower show with pictures of the last week.

Let's see what has happend!

First a picture of last weekend. As you see my plants stand really cold and where nearly freezing. This was close!

IMG_0046.jpg

Now lets go to some plants. In the first picture you can see what happend to P. mirandae. I wanted to show that the almost pure white young flower get much more pinkisch as they get older (right). But it's pretty hard to show with the camera!

IMG_0073.jpg

IMG_0078.jpg

And now look what P. emarginata 'pale flower' did. The plant is even nicer then the flower :D

IMG_0084.jpgIMG_0085.jpg

That's how P. ehlersiae 'Santa Gertrudis' looks like.

IMG_0058.jpg

And whats new? P. jaumavensis for example!

IMG_0080.jpg

IMG_0083.jpg

Or maybe this P. emarginata hybrid? I don't know what the other parent plant is. If somebody has a good idea, please tell me!

IMG_0063.jpg

And her are two other P. ehlersiae locations. First we have Ascension

IMG_0050.jpg

And second a form from Santa Catarina.

IMG_0069.jpg

P. nivalis is one of the plants I don't like to take pictures. It's not easy to get a good picture of it.

IMG_0095.jpg

SOme others are still getting to the bloom-stage

For excample P. martinezii:

IMG_0100.jpg

or P. chuquisacensis. I haven't got any idea where it got the fly from in winter...

IMG_0090.jpg

IMG_0087.jpg

One of my most beautiful pots is this one! It's a P. ehlersiae from Ixmiquilpan, Hidalgo.

IMG_0060.jpg

At the end here is a shot of a part of my display.

Unbelieavably beautiful plants! Your conditions seem to be spot-on! :good2: Thanks for sharing, I'm dazzled of their beauty. Remember to create some interesting hybrids while you still have the chance!

Hi Marcus,

I love it..!

The nearing spring is the best time to see such a flower show of the winter flowering mexican pings.

The missing crossing partner of the P. emarginata could be P. rectifolia/P. spec. Tonala.

If you would like to see how the flower of P. martinezii looks like just visit my website - aber ich will dir natürlich nicht die Spannung nehmen

One of my plants flowered for the first time last week.

Cheers,

Markus
