gardenofeden
just received some Pinguicula vallisneriifolia, thanks Ian! However looking at the species online shows LOADS of people spell it vallisnerifolia (i.e. with only one "i" before the "f"). World of Pinguicula and carnivorous plant database spell it correctly, i.e. vallisneriifolia. I'm assuming I've got the spelling right, and everybody else is wrong! If so, please correct your grow lists...! (and somebody please edit Wikipedia)
C.Weinberger
Hi! The corret name is Pinguicula vallisneriifolia. Cheers Chris
kisscool_38
This name contains two "i". The name of this species means "butterwort with eelgrass leaves" because of its long leaves. Eelgrass are plants of the genus Vallisneria, so for the latin name you keep the "i" from Vallisneria and you change the last "a" for a "i" following latin rules.
