Frugal plant labels

Recommended Posts

I've been making my own plant labels for some time for Utricularia pots, as I find most standard plant labels way too big for small pots. I make them out of plastic milk bottles. I find that one side is textured, so easy to write on with a permanent marker:

... so easy to write on with a permanent marker:

I did not know there was such a creation. Every 'permanent' ink I've used or heard of has disappeared after 0.5-3 seasons in the weather. Finding the writing gone tends to make me a tad upset - especially when it's for a location plant with similar-appearing plants nearby from different locations ...

Brother P-Touch TZ labels have resolved my issues ....

I was waiting for that

I'm not a Scot though

Ah, true, you aren't, so, no cracks to make. :sarcastic_blum:

The right pencil will write on mist things and never fades.

I would imagine the texture on plastic milk bottles would facilitate the use of a soft pencil. I have used P-Touch labels on them too.
