Phil Green
Was checking out the few drosera I have today and discovered that I'm not sure where some have gone (or when). But anyway - as I didn't have any pic's of my rotundifolia, I took some. On closer inspection of the last one, I got a pleasant surprise. As I can't find many pic's on the web of snap tenticles on rotundifolia, I thought I'd share them. Edited May 1, 2011 by Phil Green

Guest Andreas Eils
I think Siggi Hartmeyer has discovered snap tentacles on the round leafed sundew two years ago - and so had to correct his studies about snap tentacles he published earlier. Phil Green
They aren't snap tentacles but type 2 as seen in this video I have found them too but around the whole round. I will add a photo You are correct that they are type 2 - but both type 2 & 3 are termed snap tenticles. Type 2 are found on many drosera, while type 3 (which react much quicker) has only been found on D. glanduligera. What you are seeing all around the leaf edge (if you are looking at rotundifolia) are probably the type 1 tenticles - these have the thick base which emerges from the leaf margin (like type 2), but they also have the sticky mucilage (as can be seem in my pic). Only those 2 which I have highlighted are the type 2 'Snap Tenticles'. Yep, I did read that Siggi had found them on 'some' rotundifolia afterwards.
