Guest Andreas Eils
Hi Michi, whenever I see pics of your plants I think: That´s simply not fair!!!!! How can this young chap grow CPs better than I do... The N. glabrata: A DREEEAAAAMMMM...... BTW: The D. leioblastus I got from you is currently flowering. The flowers are not such a big attraction but smell delicately. All the best Andreas

All the best Andreas Hi Thank you all for your kind comments! :-) Andreas: thanks! :) but I must admit that my pygmies of the new generation are still sooooo small... I don't dare to take a photo of them or even post it here! Don't know how you manage to grow them to this size in such a short time! Your Dork's Pink... are they from my gemmae??? My pygmies are still so unbelievable small and your leioblastus is already flowering? This is not fair! ;) Michi
Michi Zehnder
Love the macro shots - what camera/lens do you use? Thanks! I normally take the pictures with a Olympus E-3 with a 50mm macro-objectiv. Michi
Guest Andreas Eils
Yes, the "Dork´s Pink" is from you, Michi. I raise pygmy Droserae from gemmae below fluorescent tubes and an aluminium reflector. However a couple of species don´t grow well despite of that. D. parvula ssp. parvula has proven to be not only a very slow grower but also has the most losses among germinating gemmae - at least for me. and your leioblastus is already flowering? This is not fair! *hrhrhrhr* At least ONE thing that performs better for me! Well, I´ve heard from someone who actually is a cacti and succulent grower his D. walyunga (gemmae he got from me) flowered already in their first season! They grow in a cool greenhouse. I´ve never managed that! Many pygmy species only flower in their second season for me and then die - partly while flowering! *sniff* And those dam* new Walyungas have already built their stipule buds! Hey, we are still far away from summer...how dare they!!! D. walyunga is strange! One year they do superb, the next they cause you nothing but hassle!!! D. gibsonii is a fast grower! I think I´ll have flowers again this spring! :-) A lot more than my first batch. Before I sold my mother plants last summer I´ve only had four plants, but one with three growing points. Luckily I´ve got gemmae of this fantastic species back! *Whoo! Sweat!* ;-) Their flowers are really LARGE! Good growing! Andreas Oh, btw, if you shall receive seeds of your D. peltata "Grampians", please send me some! :o) Edited April 6, 2011 by Andreas Eils

Michi Zehnder
Some more ;) Overview U. asplundii: The Plant has been flowering for more then two months! Some Snapshots: D. peltata D. pavula D. leioblastus (they smell so sickly sweet!) D. hyperostigma N. spectabilis x aristolochioides D. pycnoblasta D. echinoblastus (find the fault! ;) ) Michi
Miloslav Macháček
Really great photos of your even greater plants! Love your asplundii ...
Guest Andreas Eils
Hi Michi, see, now you have your own D. leioblastus flowers. Could pretty well imagine you are sniffing at the flowers until you are "high"! For my nose they are unfortunately a little bit out of reach in the plastic tub. ;-P Your D. parvula are nicely coloured. Mine look really pale against yours. :-( D. echinoblastus...find the fault? That´s a real tricky game! Because it has six petals? Must the D. pycnoblasta then not also have a fault?! ;-) Kindest regards Andreas Edited April 28, 2011 by Andreas Eils
Michi Zehnder
Hi Andreas, Thank you! :) My D. leioblastus already flowered last year. ;-) But the new one of this generation are still too small. You are right... But D. pycnoblasta looks symmetrical while the sixth petal of D. echinoblastus is out of place. ;-) Michi
